Interphase Technologies, Inc. has launched its Chart Master™ 169CS, an affordable, easy-to-use GPS/chart plotter engineered to deliver clear, big-picture charting capabilities and cutting-edge
navigation features.

At first glance, it’s easy to see what sets the new 169CS apart: A panoramic color LCD display with a 16jandhproducts screen aspect ratio like high-end digital TVs and computer monitors. This not only provides a larger display that’s easier to view and navigate by, it allows for useful and readable split-screen displays of charts alongside navigation data screens, depth information (with a “Smart” transducer or other NMEA source input) and other data.

The Chart Master 169CS features a powerful 200 MHz RISC processor that provides for advanced navigation features and ultra-fast redraw of the 3.41”H X 6.1”W TFT screen. With 256 colors and full sunlight viewability, the Chart Master 169CS gives boaters all the advantages of C-MAP NT+ electronic charts in any light conditions. This precision navigation tool provides easy access to advanced C-MAP NT+ charting capabilities, including the programmable, forward-looking Guardian Technology™ depth alarm designed to keep you off the rocks and out of trouble. At the push of a button, navigators can also view port services, tidal/current information along their route, get automatic information about on-screen objects, or even receive real-time weather data and predictions (with addition of C-Forecast™).

The Chart Master 169CS also features a 12-channel WAAS GPS antenna/ receiver for pinpoint accuracy anywhere in the world (typically under 3 meters). Navigators will appreciate this when navigating a tricky channel, running in unfamiliar waters, finding a secret dive spot or “setting up” to fish a small wreck or reef.

With 16MB of internal memory, the Chart Master
169CS can store up to 500 waypoints, 25 routes of

up to 50 waypoints each and more than 5,000 track points using seven different colors – while its non-volatile memory guards against the loss of your favorite anchorages, dive spots or fishing holes. For easy integration into a full bridge system, the Chart Master 169CS has an NMEA Autopilot Interface and a second NMEA0183 interface port. It also features a USB interface for future accessories or easy software upgrades.
